Sons of Confederate Veterans
Georgia Grave Location Project

Our camps in Georgia are spread out all over the state. I'd like to ask each camp to seek out Confederate Veterans' graves in their county and if possible in their surrounding counties, and record any known information from the headstones, so we can have this information recorded. (Headstones are a great source of information!)

This project will lead into other projects in the future :

bullet
Headstone Replacement - Getting new or replacement headstones for Confederate Veterans.

bullet
Add Research for our Genealogy department, also useful for those members looking for extra information regarding there Ancestors.

The information that we collect from this Grave Location Project will be put into a master index, database.

Hopefully, this project will spread to other SCV camps throughout the country. So Please members, Search though your records, local cemetery records, cemeteries, Historical Societies, family records - or any other source.

Travel to cemeteries, Record the necessary information for this project, and send it to your camp Commanders or send it directly to me.

Thank You for you time, effort & cooperation.

Together we will help preserve this vital information, for
generations to come......
